The Department of Biotechnology, University Institute of Engineering and Technology is actively engaged in diverse research areas that contribute to fundamental science as well as modern technological advancements. Faculty members are conducting significant research in Enzyme production, Plant Growth promoting bacteria, Nanoparticle synthesis, Molecular marker, plant disease control, malaria resistance and transcriptomic studies in collaboration with other research Institutions, focusing on understanding plant , animal and microbial system.
Another important area of research is dye degradation using enzyme including work on different aspect of enzyme applications. The department also has strong research activities in Molecular docking, Researchers focus Alzheimer and cancer related proteins.
In the field of Bioinformatics , Faculty members are working on in silico analysis of protein and nucleic acid sequences. research includes transcriptomic analysis of heart and lung tissues in Goat.
Research in Tissue culture includes micropropagation, Transformation and secondary metabolite production. Work also includes development of tissue culture technique for ornamental and medicinal plants.
The department is also active in production of Bioavtive metabolites from Rhizopheric fungi, focusing on their production, optimization and their antimicrobial activity along with their application in different fields. Faculty member in the department is also working on Harnessing medicinal plants for scalp health.
